I took it for granted

The way of life has changed, was used be normal will never be normal again. We are entering a new level of normal, a different normal. But not how it used to be. And to me it feels like an era has come to an end, 2020 is indeed a new beginning to many. Thinking back, I feel like I have taken many things for granted. Though I can not turn back time, I did learn (and I think many of us) that we have to be grateful for everything in life.

Starting today, make it a priority to make a list of the things you are grateful for. Or take 3 minutes of your time to think about the things you are grateful for. Lift up your mood, mention the little things that you wouldn’t otherwise think of. Such as being able to hear, to feel, to smell, to taste. The little things in the end is what really matters. Your health that you might take for granted. Your legs, your arms and your heart. All healthy and working, be thankful for that. Even though if you’re not healthy a 100% or you have things that might limit you from doing certain activities, be thankful you are alive and breathing. Be thankful that you are you and you get to live another day. For some, they have taken their last breath last night.

Attitude for gratitude will make times like this easier and more bearable. Take care of yourself, stay safe and be mindful.

How affirmations REALLY work

Many people have heard of affirmations and many more try to use affirmations in their daily lives to make things happen. However, it doesn’t always work for anyone.

In this video I have explained why affirmations don’t work and how you can turn that around. And in this blog I will explain more about how affirmations REALLY work for anything you want in your life.

What are affirmations:

Affirmations are sentences aimed to affect the conscious and the subconscious mind. The words composing the affirmation, automatically and involuntarily, bring up related mental images into the mind, which could inspire, energize and motivate. Repeating affirmations, and the resultant mental images, affect the subconscious mind, which in turn, influences the behavior, habits, actions and reactions.*

Now that you know what affirmations are we can start getting into the real talk! Reading the meaning affirmations sounds easy right? I know! However, it doesn’t work as easily as it sounds because there is something else that I believe is missing in the statement which is FEELINGS.

Well how DOES it work then and when can I get started?

First things first.

Step 1: Write down on a piece of paper what you truly want to manifest into your life. It can be a job, a partner, a nice holiday, a fitness goal, whatever you like!

Step 2: Think of all the positive things that you can say to yourself around this goal. For example I want to run a half marathon is the goal, then the affirmations that are matching with this goal would be

  • I am a healthy and energetic person
  • I can run a half marathon with full power and energy
  • I understand what it FEELS like to run a half marathon
  • I LOVE running a half marathon
  • I KNOW I can run a half marathon
  • My body understands when it FEELS like to run a half marathon
  • My body FEELS great
  • My health is improving each and everyday
  • I know how to train for a half marathon
  • I am ready to run a half marathon

These are some examples that you can use to match the picture you have in mind when you are working or reaching your goal.

Step 3: MEDITATE. I know not everyone “knows” how to do it, and I rather call it VISUALIZE than meditation because it is something different, but because many people understand the term meditation better I will use that now for now. When you sit and meditate for 10 to 15 minutes a day about your goal, you will start developing feelings of HOW IT FEELS LIKE to actually run a half marathon. You can FEEL that you are reaching the finish line, you can feel your body is healthy and strong, you can FEEL that you are runner. This is recommended every day before going to bed or before getting out of bed in the morning.

Step 4: Let go! what?? Let go??? YES! Let go of any attachment towards what you want. This will create space between you and your goal to develop en and for the process to happen. I know it is hard to let go of something you truly want. But trust me it is easier to go on with the right actions towards your goal and doing the things you want to do in your daily life, yet not thinking 24/7 about your goal. Give it space to develop and to come alive!

Step 5: Congratulations, you have reached your goal

Just a quick side note, if you really don’t understand why you are not getting what you want and you have been doing all the right things but it is just not coming to you, then I would say, it might be time to check you believe system (this subject will be on my blog soon), or it might not be for you and there is something greater out there!

The Art of Allowing

Dear friends,

I have been affected by the full moon lately and it has been challenging me in so many ways. I know that some people think I am crazy, and that is fine too!

Through this full moon energy I have been teaching myself something very important and this is also something that has been giving me a peace of mind. It is the Art of Allowing… Yeppp this means: allowing energy to flow, allowing people to be, allowing situations to happen without affecting you in any way, shape or form. So I don’t get involved with it, but I won’t let it influence my “inner peace”.

The Art of Allowing simply means that you let people just be who that want to be at any given moment. For example, my dad can be very annoying in asking me to do something… and when he asks me can you do this or that and I reply with yea I will do it in 5 min. He gives me a weird look and says: “No Eman, now” … and that my friends REALLY annoys me!!! I cannot stand it when someone tells me to do something (I have to work on this). Anyways, but NOW…

I say in my head… Allow him to be who he wants to be, just like you want to be who YOU want to be. Do not judge, do not let your ego tell you HOW you know things much better than the other person, do not give it any form of negative energy. Just allow it to be.

IT REALLY HELPS, IT DOES!!!

It takes practice and patience, but it’s one of the best things you can do for yourself and learn to get some inner peace.

Full Moon Meditation

Full Moon Meditation

Hello fellow Human beings,

I feel so much attracted to this month’s full moon. Mostly it is about healing and letting go of old things that we hang on to and welcome new beginnings. It is time to heal as we are moving pretty fast into this year and I am sure you want to continue with clean energy. It is time to make things happen.

The challenge will be the over-thinking part, so don’t be afraid or angry at yourself when you catch yourself over-thinking a situation. Observe the thought, smile, and imagine it passing by like a cloud. If that doesn’t help, try to focus on your breath or be full aware of what you are doing at the moment. For example if you are walking, feel your legs taking a step, feel the ground, put your attention to the muscles that are moving and how the rest of your body is participating in the walking.

With that being said I have a very nice meditation that I would like to share with you. Below I will take you step-by-step from beginning to end and I hope you will have a great experience. Please share it with me if you wish, I would love to hear from you.

  1. Drink a glass of water. As you do this, think of positive changes you want to make in your life.
  2. Write those down on a piece of paper.
  3. Sit or lay down (I prefer to sit because I fall asleep easily) and take 7 deep breaths. When you feel completely calm bring your attention to your heart.
  4. Ask your heart, what is it that hurts you the most now. You might start feeling emotional, angry, sad, fearful etc. Don’t run away from the feeling and don’t open your eyes. Just look at this emotion/feeling and observe it. What is it doing, does it have a color, how is it acting with your mind and body.
  5. Ask the feeling why it is there, and what it has taught you during this time.
  6. When you get an answer say to yourself loud and clear: “I understand the lesson, I have learned it now, I let go of this situation and or feeling with ease and grace into the Universe”.
  7. Visualize and see it that this feeling is going up into the Universe.
  8. When you feel that you are calm and safe, take again 7 deep breaths.
  9. Now imagine the full moon full of positive energy, sending it your way (what you want to change and improve).
  10. Ask for guidance and ask how to move further with what you want to change. Any ideas coming up write it down.
  11. When you have got everything you feel you need say the following: “I accept the guidance of the Universe, I let the Universe show me all the right ways to move forward, I am ready to move forward”.
  12. Take 7 deep breaths, with every breath you take, feel the positive energy going into your body.
  13. Open your eyes and drink a glass of water.

What a journey

What a journey

As many of you know, I moved to Australia in July 2015. I had a goal in mind, and a journey to accomplish that goal. If I told you now that it all went well and as planned I would be telling nothing but a lie. To you, to the Universe, and to myself.

I’m telling you guys, if I would put in percentage how much of the journey went as planned I would say only 15%!!! Yes, true story.

The job in mind did not work out as planned, the person I thought I was in love with in the beginning was nothing but a hopeless dream, the apartment that I lived in was anything but home and the circumstances I landed in were only confusing, challenging with a lot of stress.

NOW…. I can tell you that I have learned so many things that lead me to something so beautiful and amazing. Whatever is in my life now is so much better than what I have hoped for. I can tell you that the journey was nothing as planned but the goal is still the same!

Moral of the story is that sometimes things do not go as planned because you need other skills and experience to get to your goal. We will not always understand this as our ego and stubbornness is always kicking in when we do not pay attention. But I feel that my goal is so much easier to reach now than before. Sometimes we have to go with the flow and adjust. Nothing bad about that. Stay true to yourself and keep your eyes on the journey. Learn your lessons and always stay thankful and feel blessed.
