The healthy breakfast

I have been trying to eat healthy since I came back from my holiday. I went to visit my families and when I am on a holiday I like to let myself go and enjoy all the food. I never calculate calories or such.

Since I came back to Sydney, I made sure that there is always something healthy to eat in the fridge. Yesterday, I was lying down in bed and I could not sleep. Scrolling down Instagram I found some very creative ways of having my yoghurt with my Muesli and fruit. I could not wait for the morning to come so I can create something delicious for myself.

And here it is:

Ingredients: Strawberries, Muesli, Nuts, Vanilla Yoghurt, Orange, Apple, and Berries 🙂

Since I am injured and I cannot exercise, I thought to myself I have to eat healthy because I am not moving a lot at the moment. This breakfast was delicious, fresh, smooth and crunchy.

Try it out and let me know your thoughts!

The simple things in life

To be able to enjoy your life and be simply happy doesn’t sound so simple at all. Many people say they will be happy when this happens or when that special person comes into their life or when they get a promotion. The problem with this attitude is that you will probably never be simply happy in your life. There is always something else waiting for us when we accomplish a goal.

Many of us don’t see how lucky we are to be alive, to be healthy, to have a job, to have food on the table and a roof above our heads. These things are taken so much for granted, just because these things are the ‘basics’ of life. When as a matter of fact, THAT is luxury.

It is a luxury to be alive in a free country, where you can speak your mind and do what you want. It is a BIG LUXURY to be healthy, walking and running and talking and moving and playing and working and traveling and reading without feeling any pain or being limited. It is a luxury to have food in your stomach and going to sleep in a warm bed. It is a luxury to have clothes to choose from in the morning, clean water to drink, and be able to go to the movies once in a while.

If you can not see how lucky you are now, you will never be happy. The attitude that you show when you have the “simple” things in life with bring you the “bigger” things you desire. Going on a holiday far away, lying on the beach, sipping on your cocktail will mean nothing and it won’t even add anything to your happiness if you are not well.

Luxury is when you recognize how lucky you are and how blessed you are in your daily life. Anything else that comes after that is just a temporary happy thing. It won’t keep you satisfied for the rest of your life.

How many times do you feel sad when coming back from a very nice holiday, or when a great party just finished, or when you phone broke and you have to get a new one. Temporary happiness is fine and you need some of that in your life, but don’t let it take your focus away from the true happiness that you already have.

In the end the simple things in life are what count the most.

Self esteem vs Social media

Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, YouTube, Blogs, etc.

Everyone has an account or uses all social media platforms. It’s fun, connecting with the world, connecting friends and family. Some have made it there business and others just use it for their own private life. AND it can be addicting to get as many likes as possible, sharing each and every moment because it will gain followers. But why are we doing that? Why do some people feel like they need to get certain likes because otherwise they delete their post. Not enough? People see that your selfie didn’t make it to the popular pages? SO WHAT?!

Too many people attach their self esteem with their social media accounts. It’s very important for some to get more followers more likes and more compliments. That selfie is going to be IT!! And then… it doesn’t go as you wanted… as expected… then what?! You feel down? You feel sad? You feel angry? Why?

Self esteem goes down, and people look for what others do and how they look and what they wear and try to copy that because that will give them some fame. Unfortunately it doesn’t always work like this and you have to understand. This doesn’t mean that you are uglier than the rest, less fun, less intelligent or anything in between.

Don’t attach who you are with the likes you have. Try to see the fun in sharing nice moments, but don’t let the amount of followers or likes take away the joy of the moment.

Nobody is going to share their problems with the wold (some do and that’s their choice). Nobody is going to share a picture where they just got out of bed, or where they are feeling angry or sad. Why? Because that’s not for sharing, that’s private in my opinion.

So whatever you see on social media is not always how people live their life ever single moment of every single day. Don’t be ashamed and don’t feel less than anyone. Your true value is with the people that are really around you. Your kindness in your daily life!!!

Social media, it’s fun and all, but it will never determine how I see myself when I look in the mirror. And I wish for everyone to understand. You are beautiful, with 1 or 6000 likes on that selfie that you took 100x before posting one (yes that’s me too and I’m not ashamed!).

‘100 days of happiness’ Challenge

I was scrolling down on Instagram and looking for nice pictures of people to like, something I like to do, I like it so much it is actually becoming scary! Anyways lets talk some other time about obsession and addiction. For now I want to share with you a challenge that I will take from today on.

It is the 100 days of happiness challenge. I have seen many people taking the challenge and when you go on Instagram #100happydays you see everyone who is joining, sharing their pictures. I think this is a fun challenge because it simply forces you to see the good in each and everyday. I’m sure some people might forget to post a picture someday, or they have such a bad day they just skip the challenge for a few days. But I don’t think that is the right way to do it. Although, everybody is free to do whatever they want. But at least not for me, because I think is it about perseverance, thinking positive and persistence!

How I am going to do this challenge… Okay it can be challenging sometimes to be positive in a very negative situation. SO just to be prepared for the worst I will have a back up list of some affirmations in my wallet to be back on the right track, happy music on my phone, and a goal to look forward to.

The GOAL is my why! The reason WHY i’m doing this challenge, to take another approach in life. Sometimes we need a push from the outside, and so this is my push. THE CHALLENGE.

I will post all my pictures on my Instagram (maanitalk), simply because I can’t and I don’t want to post them on Facebook or my blog. The reason for this, is because I don’t want to annoy people if they don’t want to follow my challenge.

My long distance run

As many of you have seen on my instagram, I had a long distance run of 23.10km yesterday.

It went well, however at the end I ran out of water and I had to go home because I was so thirsty, I also did not feel my legs because I was so tired. I got a little bit discouraged because I have my full marathon next week Sunday and I felt that I will not be able to do it. BUT I thought to myself if I can run 23km I should be able to finish the other 19km with ease and grace!

Many people around me don’t believe that I’m able to finish it (and maybe they are right), but what people say does not matter, the only thing that matters is what I think I’m able to do. And if I never thought I can run a full marathon, I would have never signed up for one in the first place. This is my passion and I will do it, even if it means crawling to the finish line, I will do it!

So before I went out and hit the road I had another great energy smoothie.

ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 2 slices of pineapple
  • 2 dl yogurt
  • 1 tsp of honey
